Artist-in-Residence: Pat Toh
Pat Toh is interested in the lived experience of the body and walks as a mean to explore relationships between body-mind-time-space. During her residency, she conducted research and an investigation into the walking culture in Singapore, as well as experimented with walking tasks that sought to encourage a more tactile engagement with the city. In the first month of her residency, Pat conducted her study though the reading of critical texts, interviews with a range of experts from foot reflexologist to urban planner and walking as field study. Text, images and ideas during this period contributed to the development of a project on the poetics and politics of walking in Singapore.
Pat ended her residency with a performative workshop titled Sole on 27 and 28 May.
