Gather family and friends to open and smooth the flow of ‘Qi’ (life force), in this easy-to-follow session on Tai Chi Relaxation with certified teacher of meditation & tai chi, Tania Sng. Grounded in Yin-Yang philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, Tania will lead participants through gentle, meditative movements focused on two acupuncture points designed to quiet the heart, relax the body, and build qi for better health. Since 2010, Tania has trained under esteemed martial arts masters, and will share simple, time-tested techniques to activate energy flow and restore inner balance. This experience can be enjoyed standing up or sitting down, and is suitable for all ages and abilities, from ages 3 to 130! You may leave feeling centred, at ease, and in harmony with all aspects of life.

Presented by The Substation, Sub 45 – online workshops is series of arts experiences in 45 minutes, suitable for arts enthusiasts, first-timers, and non-arts practitioners. Conducted live by established guest instructors, Sub 45 is an invitation to submerge in the arts from the comfort of home anywhere in Southeast Asia and infuse creative energy into daily life – a real-time virtual workshop in just under one hour!

* Suitable for all ages and abilities including children and seniors. No prior experience required to attend.
* As this is a movement session, participants are encouraged to turn on their cameras to allow visual interaction with the Instructor and fellow participants.
* Two sessions available (17 Mar & 24 Mar). While both sessions will offer the same content, the experience will vary on each day.

About the Artist

Tania Sng teaches the practice of relaxing and opening the heart and body to achieve balance, wholeness and harmony. Her work since 2015 focuses on Chinese Internal Martial Arts and Meditation practices as foundational to holistic wellness, helping children and adults to release stress and shine to their potential.

Since 2010, she has studied directly under esteemed martial arts masters, namely Master Li Junfeng (chief coach of the 12-time national champion Beijing Wushu Team), Master Ge Chunyan (Bagua Zhang expert and National Champion in multiple events for five years in a row), and Teacher Li Jing (World Tai Chi champion in Tai Chi sword and Chen-style Tai Chi). Tania is herself a gold medalist for Bagua Zhang at the 2017 China Ancient Wudang International Martial Arts Exchange and at the 3rd Singapore International Wushu ZiJin Cup Championship.

Tania's current portfolio includes teaching at O’Joy Senior Care Centre, providing group and individual training workshops, and hosting a weekly Sheng Zhen Moving Meditation training featuring Master Li Junfeng.

Prior to holistic wellness, Tania was a Singapore film industry veteran known for producing and directing feature-length films Cages (2005) and Lucky 7 (2008), numerous short films, and costume work for Canopy (2013, directed by award-winning Australian filmmaker, Aaron Wilson). A top graduate of Cinema & Photography at Ithaca College, New York, USA, Tania was among 11 Asian women directors spotlighted at the Créteil International Women’s Film Festival, France in 2005. Her films have toured to VideoBrasil Electronic Festival, Singapore International Film Festival, and Busan Asian Short Film Festival.
