CALL FOR ENTRIES:
6TH SINGAPORE SHORT CUTS

A Programme of the National Museum Cinémathèque
Deadline: 8th June 2009

Celebrating its 6th season this year, Singapore Short Cuts is an annual showcase of outstanding short films by local filmmakers. The program features a diverse selection of Singapore short films from documentaries to animation and experimental work with post-screening discussions with the filmmakers.

Some of the filmmakers whose films have been featured in Singapore Short Cuts include Victric Thng, Eva Tang, Boo Junfeng, Wee Li Lin, Tan Pin Pin and Eric Khoo.

The 6th Singapore Short Cuts is co-organized by National Museum of Singapore, The Substation and Singapore Film Commission.

We are now accepting entries for the 6th Singapore Short Cuts for recent Singapore short films made from 2008 to 2009. All entries to indicate rating (if any).

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
5TH SINGAPORE SHORT FILM FESTIVAL (5SSFF)

13th – 21st September 2009

Submission deadline: 22nd June 2009

The 5th Singapore Short Film Festival is Singapore’s only dedicated international short film festival that showcases award-winning short films from around the world! Previously a biennial film festival, the programme has grew to become an annual event and will incorporate the long-running Asian Film Symposium (AFS) which examines industry trends and the raising young film talents in Asia through S-Express, the traveling short film programme that reaches Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Two films from the festival will walk away with a Voice Award (International) and Voice Award (Singapore)!

So if you’ve got a short film (30min or less) made after Jan 2007, send it over today!

Exhibition formats accepted are DVD, miniDV (PAL) and 16mm.

Please send 2 DVD screeners together with the completed submission forms. (There are two.)

CALL FOR ENTRIES:
VANCOUVER SINGAPORE FILM FESTIVAL 2009

Deadline: 30th June 2009

In June 2008, the Toronto Singapore Film Festival went to Vancouver, thus the Vancouver Singapore Film Festival (VSFF) was born.

The VSFF returns in September 2009. It aims to be a celebration of the best in local, national, and international films by Singaporean talents. The screening venue will be the popular Cinemark Tinsletown Cinema in greater downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

They welcome films of all genres and all lengths by Singaporean filmmakers and/or subject matters.

For interested film makers, please submit the following:
- 2 DVD screeners (region free)
- Director’s statement
- A 50-word description of the film or video (for promotional purposes)
- Director(s) biography – this would include: age, personal filmography, educational background, current occupation (are you a full-time filmmaker?), future filmmaking plans; also include a portrait photograph
- Full cast list and a complete and accurate list of credits
- Stills from the film (high resolution electronic files preferred - 300 dpi or higher)
- Press kit and/or electronic press kit with posters if available.

Celebrating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we have chosen the theme: ENERGY & THE WORLD

Exhibition formats accepted are 16mm, 35mm, Beta SP & DVD (NTSC).
Preview: on 1/2" VHS (PAL/NTSC), DVD (NTSC region 0 or 1)
All lengths are eligible

Entry fee: $25 for films up to 30 min. (late deadline $35) and $35 for films longer than 30 min. (late deadline is $45)

TORONTO SINGAPORE FILM FESTIVAL

Deadline: 19th January 2009 (EXTENDED)

The Toronto Singapore Film Festival (TSFF) is one of the few film festivals devoted to Singaporean films outside Singapore , and has been playing to full houses since its inception. Films previously screened include Singapore Ga Ga, The Art of Flirting, S 11, The High Cost of Living, 18 Grams of Love, Feet Unbound, Perth, 4:30, Just Follow Law and Singapore Dreaming

Returning for its fourth year, the 2009 TSFF promises to build on the success of the past three years. The festival organizers invite all interested Singaporean filmmakers to submit their works, and partake in this international and intercultural expedition!

All submissions, accompanied by the submission form, should reach the Toronto-Singapore Film Festival committee by 19 January 2009.

26TH TORINO FILM FESTIVAL

Deadlines: 29 August 2008 for shorts and documentaries / 30 September for feature films

The Torino Film Festival’s director Nanni Moretti invites submissions for the 26th edition from 21st to 29th November 2008.

Exhibition formats accepted are 35mm, HD, Digital Betacam, Betacam, DVD.
Preview screeners may be submitted as VHS tapes (PAL or NTSC) or DVDs (any regions).

All the films submitted have to be Italian premieres.
