Let’s Play is an informal improvisation session between dance performers and sound artist Zul Mahmod. Derived from Zul’s installation work, Dancing With Frequencies, where audiences triggered laser pointers to activate sounds from a Guzheng (a Chinese string instrument), Let’s Play is an expansion of this work and includes light and pressure sensors which dancers will use to choreograph their own pieces and compositions. Professional dancers and students are invited to participate in this informal improvisation session and explore this work further.

Sessions commence Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 April, 12-5pm and 6-9pm.

80 years have flown by since the invention of the theremin, and still, it remains one of the most elusive instuments. Musician and performer, Shaun Sankaran, will open the doors to a music of delicate sensitivity channelled through this enigmatic electronic instrument. Through the theremin, Shaun Sankaran attempts to summon a power to create a music that is so hypnotic and ominous, it would appear that there were unseen forces bending the shape of sound, creating an ephemeral experience that will move both listener and performer.

Singapore’s original showcase of queer films is now in its fourth installment, and this year’s lineup offers the usual spectrum of delights. From bloody bunnies to comic-book superheroes, from a woman with a blonde wig to one with an artificial heart, from a boy in a hotel room to another at a HIV-test clinic, unaware of how their lives might change forever, the selection of films is a testimony to the vitality and range of queer films that have been produced in Singapore.

Join us for one night only, as we celebrate queer cinema that is at turns edgy and enlightening, hilarious and heartbreaking.
