Moving Images: Call for Films
Moving Images is looking for short films to consider for inclusion in the following showcases:
First Take (usually on every 1st Monday of the month)
Screening of new and fresh local short films, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers after. All genres accepted. For Singaporeans, PRs and filmmakers based in Singapore only.
Deadline: Entries accepted throughout the year!
4th Experimental Film Forum (27 – 30 June 2013)
Showcasing experimental works from Singapore and international counterparts. Focusing on different ways of storytelling, and presenting film.
Deadline: Tuesday 30 April 2013
6th Singapore Indie Doc Fest (5 – 8 September 2013)
Showcasing independent documentaries from Singapore and around the world. Focusing on social and human rights issues, and artistic explorations.

From inexpressible thoughts to the changing nature of storytelling and narrative, the Experimental Film Forum (EFF) will showcase thought-provoking pieces and undoubted works of art. Ramesh, a private investigator, is mourning the recent death of his wife. He takes on a case to find a missing husband as a respite, but the closer he gets to solving the case, the deeper he plunges into his darkest days. This is S. Viknesh’s debut film. Celebrating Bukit Brown
By The Singapore Heritage Society and All Things Bukit Brown

Since the government’s decision to build a road through Bukit Brown Cemetery wasannounced in 2011, Singaporeans from all walks of life have flocked to the 200 year-old cemetery to accquaint themselves with its rich heritage and lush greenery. Local volunteers, academics, and artists have dedicated their time and craft to capture, recordand understand the legacy and meaning of Bukit Brown and its place in our nation’s history.
This year mass exhumations and the construction of the eight-lane road will begin. Celebrating Bukit Brown aims to showcase the efforts of ordinary Singaporeans who have worked tirelessly on Bukit Brown. It is a one-day event comprising photo exhibitions, poetry, expertpresentations, theatrical readings, a public forum and a film screening. We invite you to bring artefacts, family mementoes and creative output (art, painting,poetry, music) to share your stories, and pen on the wall what Bukit Brown means to you. Descendants will share their journeys with you. Come celebrate our national heritage with us. There will be books and other merchandise available for purchase. Details

The Substation Moving Images presents Temporary Repositories, an exhibition by Kent Chan that examines contemporary cinema in Singapore, its exhibition and its conservation.
Presenting new works by the artist, Temporary Repositories consists of a new video, installation and the Moving Images Archive, a film archive initiated by the artist, encompassing the screening history of Singapore films at The Substation in the last 15 years.
