The Substation is a non-profit organisation and a registered charity. It relies on financial and in-kind support from the general public, commercial organisations and foundations. We receive approximately 15% of our annual operating budget from the government. Funds received cover the costs of operating, developing programmes and producing events.

The Substation is a registered charity and registered Institution of a Public Character. For 2015, donors will receive a 300% tax exemption on the amount they donate.
