Bani Haykal has read / presented works in several festivals and his work with music includes being the vocalist and principal songwriter for the alternative rock band b-quartet. Bani Haykal is an Associate Artist of The Substation’s Associate Artist Research Programme (2011-2013).
About The Lecher of Art
Curated by Zaki Razak
Since April, The Substation has been hosting a series of performative presentations under the banner The Lecher of Art. These seemingly fictional and alternative methodologies of speech delivery contradict the authoritative, anticipated and doctrinal manner in which lectures are commonly presented. The series uncovers new possibilities for how lectures can be conducted and creates a new dialect with the audience, formalising a controversy between the lecture and the lecturer as The Lecher of Art.
