MM is a study of patterns in compositions and structures. An evolutionary development in the kwodrent series, the research project is centred around analysing, digitising, and experimenting with selected musical forms. The findings from the musical structures are translated into various formats ranging from hand-crafted to high technology works while playing with mathematical principles. The exhibition will feature research materials, developments, and formative prototypes in various developmental stages, materials, and configurations.
Grace Tan is an Associate Artist of The Substation and this work forms part of the Associate Artist Research Programme (AARP). Grace’s most recent work at The Substation was the installation Building as a Body (10 January – 28 March 2012). For more information about this installation please click here.
