Stuffing one of the world’s largest comedy festivals into one show is no easy feat, but the Melbourne International Comedy Festival has done just that with Roadshow 2012. Offering a selection of Australian, international and special guest comedians, the Roadshow is literally all the best bits of the Comedy Festival condensed into the one ‘all killer, no filler’ event.
Last year, comedians taking part in Roadshow performed to enthusiastic crowds in 60 regional centres and capital cities across Australia – not to forget a sold-out stint here in Singapore, and a sold-out debut season in Hong Kong. Given such popularity, this year’s Roadshow plans to connect with even more comedy fans and share the kind of humour that’s had Melbourne weeping with laughter.
This year’s roadshow will be hosted by Matt Okine and will feature performces by Randy, Damian Callinan, Ronny Chieng, and Denise Scott. See more details below:

Randy
Randy spent eleven or twelve years ricocheting between disastrous career moves, romantic miscalculations and reasonably poor life choices. He’s been married, divorced, arrested, kidnapped and thrown from a moving hovercraft and after three and a half years as an occasionally sober children’s entertainer, Randy has temporarily settled on a career in comedy. His debut solo show Randy’s Postcards From Purgatory was a hit at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and went on to a sellout Edinburgh Fringe season. About Heath McIvor Heath stumbled into puppetry at the age of 17. He apologised, bought it a drink and the two have been firm friends ever since. From theatre to film and television, Heath has performed almost every style of puppetry imaginable, including one show where he spent 15 minutes manipulating a sprig of rosemary. Heath’s most recent collaboration with Sammy J, Bin Night played to sold out houses at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival in 2011. |
