Born 1973 and lives in Singapore. George Chua is an artist whose work may adopt the form of a performance, installation, or sound recording.

George’s work involves a keen interest in the interdisciplinary nature of sound art and its extensive relationships with memory, invisibility, the body, theatre and cinema. He continues to uncover the tension between the abstraction of sound and sonic fiction, presenting ongoing interdisciplinary work under his Genealogy project. For Genealogy, he has so far created installation and performance art using objects, voices, body movement, video and sound.

He most recently participated in the Singapore Biennale 2006.

George uses a laptop computer as his primary music instrument. He performs his solo work and group improvisations regularly in art spaces, theatres and clubs both local and foreign. As a sound designer for theatre and film and was awarded "An Honorable Mention for Special Achievement in Music" by The Strait Times 4th Life! Theatre awards.

George has been an associate artist of The Substation since 2002.
