Kelvin Sng graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Film Production (Directing major) at Ngee Ann Polytechnic after receiving the Media Education Scheme Award from the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore. An ex-teacher and Head of Department (HOD) in the education service, Kelvin was already making short films as a teacher, eventually going into full-fledged filmmaking in 2004. His 2005 short film MORE THAN WORDS, a tribute to the late Asian songstress Teresa Teng, has been officially invited to be screened at various film festivals around the world such as Italy, Germany, Canada, United Kingdom, Romania and Africa. Kelvin has recently been awarded the Script Development Grant by the Singapore Film Commission to develop MORE THAN WORDS into a feature film. Besides MORE THAN WORDS, his recent short film KICHIRO, a homage to Japanese ultra-violent cult films, has been screened at the prestigious Beijing Film Academy and is currently travelling the international film festival circuit as well.

Besides filmmaking, Kelvin is also the director for aD iNFINITUM Films (www.ai-films.com), a film company he set up in 2006. In addition, he is also a trainer specialising in teaching film and video production in schools using digital and 3-G technology, with his students ranging from primary school to junior college level.

An active supporter of the arts, Kelvin is also the founder of rOCKERpOET, an arts collective he founded at the turn of the millennium that aims to challenge conventional notions of art through progressive art practice and education, particularly in film and poetry. rOCKERpOET has conceptualised and organised numerous events including poetry reading sessions as well as film screenings, one of which is the highly successful Toronto-Singapore Film Festival (www.tsff.org) in Canada.

At present, Kelvin has several film projects in development, one of which includes developing MORE THAN WORDS into a trilogy.
