An intensive, two-session workshop suitable for art teachers or for anyone with an interest in learning more about western and local art history. The workshop takes participants through a timeline of art history, including Singapore’s own historical art landscape. From the art of antiquity to the contemporary, major art movements and stylistic innovations are covered with the aim of helping participants make sense of how artists and artworks relate to one another. Slides of relevant artworks will be shown for study. The workshop supplements teachers’ own research and classroom experiences. Teachers are encouraged to share their own ideas for discussion.
