alternatives looks into the processes of three key systems woven out of an expression centered on culture and the individual, particularly in Singapore.
These three systems are:
1. Lateral Narratives
2. Improvisational Overtures
3. Hyperpentatonics
Throughout the week, various musicians will improvise and demonstrate the mechanics of these systems whilst collaborating with audiences who are keen to participate in the recording sessions. Audiences who would like to participate and bring their own intruments will be required to register before attending. This project is a means to further experiment, develop and share alternative approaches to composition and performance.
