A Cage Goes in Search of a Bird
Thursday 24 to Saturday 26 June, 8pm
Flexible Performance Space, 1 McNally Street
Admission: $16 or $25 from Gatecrash
Presented by A Group of People
A Cage Goes in Search of a Bird navigates our quiet struggles with belonging and the meaning/lessness of life.
The play is staged by A Group of People, an ensemble collective founded by Oliver Chong, Koh Wan Ching, Timothy Nga and The Substation’s Associate Artist Nelson Chia.
Four accountants hard at work in the finance division of a publishing firm discover an existential manuscript among their spreadsheets. Can they connect these disparate things and possibly find meaning?
Drawing inspiration from plays such as No Exit and Waiting For Godot, the play is an attempt to claim the things we cannot have, and an attempt to recover the things we used to have and have lost.
